REACHING A MILESTONE!
- Wow! A vision becomes a realisation. Words turn to action and a dream explodes to life as a community pulls together to build a haven for those most vulnerable - children. The passion and dedication from those actively involved in the planning, facilitation and provision of service is truly heartwarming. People are intrinsically good and despite the difficult environment managed to pull off a monumental feat - the first facility of its kind in Zimbabwe!

IGNITING HOPE

Thanks to the generous gifts from honoured donors and volunteers, the first phase of three is nearing completion. With a 'move-in" date set for September 2022, our joint mission is close to becoming a reality. This first block will be able to welcome five children, each with a caregiver, for the duration of their treatment program at Parirenyatwa. A gift of hope - thank you!
Cancer is a leading cause of death for children and adolescents.

In Western countries cancer is the second most common cause of death in children,
but in Africa it is not even ranked among the 10 most common causes of death. Childhood cancers are therefore given a low priority as a child death, however it is in these countries where 90% of the world children live and bear the greatest burden of cancer.
The number of Zimbabwean children who are battling cancer is on the rise. It is estimated by sources working with children that the mortality numbers are in the region of 75%.
The RCV Trustees and partners believe that since much donor funding is already provided for malnutrition, neonatal mortality and infectious diseases (e.g. HIV/AIDS and TB), there is a responsibility to help Childhood Cancer sufferers.
